OREANDA-NEWS. On 09 July 2009 was announced, that in 2009 one of the main Centravis priorities are decrease of production cost value and implementation of the new equipment, which will rise competitiveness of the Holding on the world market of seamless stainless tubes. Production optimization runs according to the previously announced plan. Centravis presents a short report on these projects for the 1st half of 2009.

New equipment implementation

Realizing the large-scale program of technical modernization, CJSC “CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE” is about to finish the following initiatives in the tube-drawing and tube-pressing shops.

In the cold shop:

— The end of contract testing of the new KPW-25 cold-rolling mill with 180 meters per hour efficiency of the German producer SMS MEER (the second similar mill will be implemented in August this year);

— Assemblage of Tioda washer for degreasing tubes, made in USA.

In the hot shop the new pressing line has been working in the regime of contract testing for more than 2 months. The components of the new line are IAS workpiece heating furnace, the furnace for heating shells before pressing, 44МН tube-profile press. The main suppliers of the equipment are the leading firms of Germany in the sphere: IAS and SMS MEER. Line testing and guidance is realized by the crew of supervisors and setters from Germany and one shift of CJSC “CPU” tube-pressing shop. As of today the company runs pressing of tubes with an external diameter from 38 to 245 mm as a part of contract testing.

Decrease of production cost value

Joint project of CJSC “CENTRAVIS PRODUCTION UKRAINE” and Austrian consulting company Cziping Consulting gets to the stage of implementation. The purpose of the project is to raise efficiency of resources usage, and also to develop effective system of management for planning and productivity monitoring. Today Centravis team and Austrian consultants concentrate their efforts on solving the following tactical tasks: reduction of unfinished production, decrease of metal discharge coefficient, implementation of 5C Japanese method to secure neatness and order at working places.

Besides the above mentioned initiatives, July, 1, 2009, there started to test the corporative system of management SAP ERP R3, which would favor raising the value of the company, transparency of accounting and quality of management. The corporative system will provide full performance, necessary for analytics, finance and production management as well as management of trade centers of the Holding throughout the world.
