OREANDA-NEWS. July 9, 2009. Roscosmos Head Anatoly Perminov held a meeting with the Science and Technology Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Dr. Kalaya Soponpanit today in Roscosmos.

Russia has been cooperating with Thailand in space since 2004, when a Memorandum was signed. Dr. Kalaya Soponpanit explains that `today there is an opportunity to enhance the cooperation. Russian space scientists have outstnading heritage, including the experience of human space missions. Thailand is only a beginner in this area, and we want to gain experience.

On Oct. 1, 2008, Russia successfully launched Thai remote sensing satellite Theos.

During the meeting, Anatoly Perminov told the Minister about main branches of the agency`s activities. The parties discussed possible ways of cooperation on space technolgies and services. Special attention was paid to remote sensing and navigation.

After the meeting, head of Roscosmos International Cooperation Directorate Alexy Korostelev made a tour in Roscosmos exposition "Achievements and Perspectives of Russian Space Projects" for Dr. Kalaya Soponpanit.
