KazakhTelecom to Dispose Its 51% Stake in Mobile Telecom-Service
OREANDA-NEWS. July 07, 2009. JSC KazakhTelecom (“KazakhTelecom”) would like to announce that itis currently exploring options to dispose its 51% stake in Mobile Telecom-Service LLP (“Neo”) inline with its strategy and asset restructuring program approved by its Board of Directors andaimed at consolidation of its businesses and optimised use of its resources, reported the press-centre of KazakhTelecom.
KazakhTelecom isseeking potential strategic parties that would be interested in acquiring its stake in Neo.
KazakhTelecom has appointed RBS Corporate Finance Limited as its financial adviser with respect to this process.
Consequently, KazakhTelecom is inviting all parties who are interested in receiving additional information on the Neo investment opportunity and sale process to contact, in writing or by email (in Russian and / or English) the following person at RBS Corporate Finance Limited:

The final date for submitting the letter of interest and necessary information about the bidder is 17 July, 2009. However, interested parties are advised to send a letter of interest as soon as possible in order to allow for enough time to analyse all the information and to submit binding offers, which will be due on 31 August, 2009.
Your letter of interest will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
financial capability;
long-term investment intentions;
the interested party’s relevant business experience;
absence of conflict of interest between the interested party and Neo

Mobile Telecom-Service LLP started offering mobile telecom services to end users under the Neo brand, after it was granted a GSM licence in 2007.
During 2007-2008 the company significantly expanded its coverage and currently operates in all regions of Kazakhstan, covering 251 cities and towns. It is Kazakhstan’s third largest GSM operator after K-Cell and Beeline and as of May 2009 had close to 920,000 subscribers.
Neo’s other major shareholder is AsiaNet Kazakhstan LLP which has a 49% stake.
