OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2009. Mr. Anatoly Golomolzin, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia, visited Ulaanbaatar in the frameworks of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the Filed of Antimonopoly Policy and Countering Unfair Competition between the FAS Russia and the Authority of Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia for 2008-2009, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

During the visit Mr. A. Golomolzin participated in the Fifth Eastern and Asian Conference on Competition Law and Policy and the Fifth High-level Meeting of Officers of Competition Policy. The Conference and the Meeting were organized by the Agency of Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia along with the Japan Fair Trade Commission and the Institute of the Asian Development Bank. During those events the Parties discussed the role of competition law/policy, competition law of Mongolia, administrative reform and competition policy, modern development of competition law/policy of the Eastern Asia and innovation in the field of technical assistance as well.

During the visit Mr. Golomolzin had a meeting with Mr. N. Altanhuyag, the First Deputy Prime-Minister, Member of the State Great Khural, Chairman of the Mongolian side of the Russian and Mongolian Intergovernmental Commission. At the meeting the Parties discussed the issues of the Russian-Mongolian cooperation in the field of competition policy as well as implementation and improvements of competition law of Russia and Mongolia.

During the visit Mr. Golomolzin had a meeting with the Mr. D. Mandah, Head of the Authority of Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia, to discuss perspectives of bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting the Parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the Field of Antimonopoly Policy and Countering Unfair Competition between the FAS Russia and the Authority of Fair Competition Consumer Protection of Mongolia for 2010-2011 that specifies the main directions and forms of the development of interaction of both the Russian and the Mongolian competition authorities. Pursuant to the Memorandum the Parties would be able to exchange information on different topics of competition policy and enforcement, render assistance when investigating facts of anticompetitive practice as well as organize meetings of leaders, training and other activities.
