Turkmen Cotton-Growers Prepare for 2009 Campaign
OREANDA-NEWS. July 8, 2009. During these summer days Turkmen cotton-growers are carrying out the agrotechnical activities on cotton plantations that will contribute to success of the ‘white gold’ picking campaign. Tenant farmers and cotton-growers made necessary preparations for the 2009 cotton picking campaign to hold it in a proper manner and without losses.
According to Turkmenpagta State Concern by the beginning of the 2009 cotton picking campaign 155 receiving points and 35 ginneries will be ready to receive raw cotton.
The specialists are engaged in testing the condition of agricultural equipment and repairing facilities and mechanisms: cotton elevators, belt transporters, sheds, barns, automatic scales. The subdivisions of the ginneries overhaul aggregates and equipment each year.
The laboratories of the receiving points of Ak Altyn State Cotton Trading Enterprise and the plants of Turkmenpagta State Concern test the condition of drying boxes, desiccators, temperature and moisture gauges and other equipment that identify the grade and quality of cotton and cotton products.
The specialists and machine-operators of Turkmenobahyzmat Association and Turkmenpagta State Concern carry out the necessary preparatory work. 600 John Deere and Case cotton pickers, 489 MTZ-82.1 tillage tractors, 100 MAZ vehicles and 1,400 trolleys will be engaged in this year’s cotton picking campaign.
