RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 July 2009 was announced, that over the week of June 29 – July 3, 2009, the RTS Index went down by 0.55% to reach 950.24 points (955.45 points as of June 26, 2009). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) (minus 9.51 points), ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) (minus 3.50 points) and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (minus 3.43 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 showed a slight growth closing at 863.0 points (0.04% up on 862.70 points as of June 26, 2009). Last week most economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market showed a sideways trend. The largest decline was demonstrated by the industrial sector, with the RTS Index – Industrial losing 6.87%. Significant decrease was registered in the financials sector, with the RTS Index – Financials going down by 1.64%. The metals & mining sector experienced the largest growth. The RTS Index – Metals & Mining went up by 2.85%.

For the last week the US dollar lost 0.22% against the RF rouble to reach 31.13 roubles per US dollar (31.20 as of June 26, 2009).

The total trading volume on RTS for the week June 29 – July 3, 2009 equaled USD6.6 billion (206.48 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD924.395 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD587.987 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD187.704 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD40.862 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 61.75%, 19.71% and 4.29% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of MASHINOSTROITELNY ZAVOD (MASZ) that went up by 17.35% to USD115.0, followed by ordinary shares of JSC VTB Bank (VTBR) – by 16.00% to USD0.00116 and ordinary shares of Tatneft (TATN) – by 13.04% to USD3.9.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of JSC "WGC-3" (OGKC) that fell in price by 16.67% to reach USD0.05 followed by ordinary shares of FESCO (FESH) – by 8.11% to USD0.34 and Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) – by 7.69% to USD1.2.
