OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 July 2009 was announced, that residential neighbourhoods are to be developed in the area currently occupied by 24 villages of Moscow.

“There are 36 villages within Moscow. We plan to have 24 of them transformed into modern neighbourhoods which will have the same name as these villages,” Moscow’s first deputy mayor for urban design policy and development, Vladimir Resin, said on July 7.

According to the official, the other 12 villages will be preserved.
