OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 July 2009 was announced, that Moscow’s first deputy mayor, Vladimir Resin, believes construction and reconstruction of Bolshoi Theatre do not threaten the nearby structures.

“This rumour is absolutely groundless. There is not any threat to the neighbouring structures that may be caused by the development of Bolshoi Theatre,” Mr Resin emphasized.

According to the first vice-president of Russian Academy of Architecture and Building Science, Vyacheslav Ilyichyov, three ways of underground protection are implemented at Bolshoi Theatre. This method enables to use the building during the whole standard operation time that is 175 years.

All the structures surrounding Bolshoi Theatre as well as itself are supervised by experts round the clock. No deformation has been revealed.
