FAS Initiated Case against Federal Customs Service
OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against the Federal Customs Service for the elements of violating Clause 2 Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The case was initiated upon a petition of the "Union of Zoological Business Enterprises" Non-Profit Organisation.
The subject matter of the case is validity of 18% VAT (instead of 10%) used by the Federal Customs Service for customs clearance of conserved feed (canned food) for cats and dogs. It can increase the costs of economic entities involved in impost of the above goods, and in restricting or eliminating competition on the market of animal feed.
The case will be heard on 30th July 2009.
