OREANDA-NEWS. July 3, 2009. The only shareholder of N.A.Dolezhal Research and Development Institute of Power Engineering (NIKIET), Atomenergoprom OJSC, has appointed Yuri Dragunov as Director of NIKIET.

Before the appointment Dragunov was advisor of the director of Atomenergoprom OJSC, earlier, Director-General Designer of Gidropress ECB.

This appointment is part of the strategy to develop and enlarge the activities of NIKIET.

Particularly, the company will actively develop its projects to design new nuclear power plants (including isotope and research reactors) and to enhance the efficiency of existing ones. Besides, NIKIET is responsible for the nuclear, radiation and ecological safety of the decommissioning and disposal of civil and military nuclear facilities.

Former Director of NIKIET Boris Gabarayev has been appointed as Deputy Director.
