OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2009. Aeroflot continues to perform the full volume of its cargo and mail traffic obligations under the existing agreements. In the current downturn situation on the cargo carriage market, the Aerflot Group having and operating a separate cargo company brings negative financial results, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

In this connection, the Aeroflot administration is developing more efficient models of this business. In particular, the company is considering the forming of a cargo traffic department (CTD) within Aeroflot JSC, which will organize the cargo traffic in the baggage compartments of passenger aircrafts on all Aeroflot flights, and a route network for cargo crafts. Thus, all the cargo transportation business, currently consolidated within JSC Aeroflot Cargo, will be passed on to the newly created department of Aeroflot JSC, which will be given a qualified personnel having experience in cargo traffic sphere.

Cargo traffic remains an integral part of Aeroflot’s business. In the development of a proper mechanism for cargo operations, CTD will pay a special attention to the provision of a seamless performance of the obligations under the existing cargo and mail traffic agreements.
