OREANDA-NEWS. July 2, 2009. In his speech the President defined a key challenge: creating a fighting core within the Russian Navy by 2020. Mr Medvedev pointed out that Russia already has the necessary conditions to do so, including the scientific foundation and industrial structures.

The meeting was attended by deputy prime ministers Sergei Ivanov and Igor Sechin, Presidential Aide Alexander Abramov, Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov, Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Khristenko, the leaders of the shipbuilding industry, and directors of several companies.
