Surgutneftegas Adds 105 mln Tons of Reserves
OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2009. Since efficient replacement of resources base is high on the Company’s agenda and is vital for its further development, Surgutneftegas is focused on reserves replacement matching up oil output, reported the press-centre of Surgutneftegas.
In 2008, the Company’s exploration operations provided for an addition of C1 oil reserves reaching 105.5 mn tons or 171% of oil output produced.
The Company’s exploration operations covered 77 license areas in 10 constituent territories of the Russian Federation including 34 exploration areas. Exploration drilling reached 169.2 thousand meters.
The number of 2D seismic surveys covered 8,400 linear km, as for 3D – 982.3 sq. km. As a result, 99 sites in 12 structures were prepared for deep exploration drilling.
The Company maintains its continuous presence in new areas of operations. In 2008, we obtained 10 licenses including 8 new license areas in Eastern Siberia, Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug. The total oil and gas resources of new license areas amounted to 150 mn tons and over 185 bcm, respectively. The Company also acquired 2 licenses for the previously discovered fields in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
In addition to three fields discovered in 2007, exploration operations in Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug resulted in discovery of a new field, Nenetskoye.
The Company’s holds 134 licenses for subsoil use including 90 licenses for geological survey, oil and gas exploration and production, and 44 licenses for hydrocarbon research and evaluation.
