OREANDA-NEWS. July 1, 2009. The Baku Factory of Deepwater Jackets named after Heydar Aliyev has fabricated Platform #1100 for installation in northern part of Pirallahi-Deniz field.

State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) reports that the platform consists of 9 jacjkets and the jackets have been already sailed away for offshore installation at water depth of 8 m. Drilling of 14 wells with depth of 800 m is expected at the platform and each of them is to produce 6-7 tons a day.

The field has been operated since 1902 and for 107 years it has produced 27 million tons of oil. The remaining reserves are estimated in 2 million tons. The field is numbering 388 operating wells producing 200 tons of oil per day.

“An exploration well with depth of 2,050 m is to be drilled for the first time at the field to check oil-and-gas content of Gala horizon,” it was reported.
