The employees of the Company detected the tap to the pipeline, which is owned and operated on the Lithuanian territory by AB Mazeikiu Nafta, during the usual walk inspection.

It has been the third attempt this year. The first attempt of tapping took place in March in Rokiskis District, near Juodupe Village. Due to failure of the illegal hose, used for stealing the product, diesel fuel was released into the environment, causing damage. Later, in May, the second attempt of illegal tapping into the pipeline was reported in Birzai District. The thieves tried to tap into the pipeline on the bottom of the Apascia River, near Totoriai Village. As a result of this failed attempt, diesel fuel also was released into the environment.
