OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2009. The delegation of the Heads of the Far East Regional Offices of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) paid a working visit to the Heilongjiang Administration for Industry and Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The visit took place in the framework of the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Fields of Countering Unfair Competition and Antimonopoly Policy.

During the meeting some issues connected with the implementation of the Program on Cooperation in the Field of Countering Unfair Competition, Antimonopoly Policy and Control over Advertising Activity between Frontier Regional Offices of the FAS Russia and the Heilongjiang Administration for Industry and Commerce of the Peoples Republic of China for the year 2009 were discussed. The exchange of information and sharing of the experience on issues regarding countering unfair competition and control over advertising activity took place as well.

The Parties also discussed perspectives of the bilateral cooperation and expressed readiness to prepare a draft Program on Cooperation for the year 2010, taking into account that fact that it would be reasonable for the Parties to discuss it in August 2009 during the meeting at the BRIC International Competition Conference, Kazan, in order to prepare the draft Program to be signed at the city of Blagoveshchensk in October, 2010.

Summing up the meetings conducted, the Parties expressed common opinion about further strengthening of interaction among regional offices of the FAS Russia and Administration for Industry and Commerce of PRC not only within frontier areas but also in other regions of the both countries to expand geographic boundaries of implementation of cooperation in the frameworks of issues stated in the Program, and also promote economical interaction among economic entities of Russia and China.

The visit is a next step toward the implementation of arrangements of activation of inter-regional cooperation among competition authorities of Russia and China specified in the Program on Implementation of Provisions of the Treaty of Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the People's Republic of China for 2008-2009.
