On 29 June 2009 was announced, that the Board of Directors of Far East Telecom had appointed Andrey Vladimirovich Balatsenko to the position of General Director of the Company.  Mr. Batsenko earlier held the position of deputy General Director/head of the Primorie branch of Far East Telecom.

On June 10, 2009 the Board of Directors of Far East Telecom prematurely terminated the powers of the General Director of Dalsvyaz, Anton Kolpakov in conjunction with his appointment to the position of General Director of Rostelecom.  The board unanimously adopted a decision to appoint Andrey Balatsenko as general director of Far East Telecom.

The main tasks of the General Director include  achieving further growth of Far East’s share of the telecommunications market, supporting a high level of profitability, improving the operator’s liquidity position and reducing its debt.

“Far East Telecom is currently in the intense growth phase, displays positive dynamics, and it’s a great responsibility to run the company at a time like this.  The main thing is not only to maintain the key efficiency indicators at a high level, but also to improve them. But I am confident that the management team of Far East Telecom, which was recently formed, is fully up to this challenge”, Andrey Balatsenko pointed out.

Mr. Balatsenko began to exercise the duties of General Director of Far East Telecom as of June 10, 2009.

Andrey Vladimirovich Balatsenko was born in 1965 in the village of Peledui in the Leninsky district of the Yakutsk Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.  In 1987 he graduated from the Novosibirsk Electro-Mechanical Telecommunications Engineering Institute.

Andrey Balatsenko has extensive managerial experience at Far East Telecom:

In 2002-2004 he was head of the Blagoveshensk Telephone and Telegraph Network of the Amur branch of Far East Telecom;

In 2004 he was named deputy director and technical director of the Amur branch of Far East Telecom;

In 2005 he acted as deputy General Director of the Kamchatka branch of Far East Telecom;

In 2006-2007 he was deputy General Director and head of the Sakhalin branch of Far East Telecom;

In 2007-2009 he was deputy General Director and head of the Primorie branch of Far East Telecom;

On June 10, 2009 he was named General Director of Far East Telecom.
