NCCPE Carried Out Inspection of Lietuvos Energija
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 26, 2009 The National Control Commission for Prices and Energy (NCCPE), having carried out the target inspection of Lietuvos Energija AB operations, published its positive conclusions, reported the press-centre of Lietuvos Energija.
“The Commission evaluated the company’s compliance with the requirements for reliability of electricity transmission and quality of electricity supply”, - said Mr. Vidmantas Grusas, Director of Department of Transmission Grid. According to him, these functions constitute the core activity of the company: Lietuvos Energija AB is the single electricity transmission system operator in Lithuania, maintaining and developing the high voltage power grid, ensuring the power system’s operation.
According to Mr. Kestutis Zilenas, Chairman of the Commission, NCCPE has evaluated cases of electricity supply interruptions at Lietuvos Energija AB, which the transmission services operator is obliged to register and order of services quality list filling as well as drafting the reports. “We have not ascertained any inaccurately registered recordings or breaches of quality requirements for electricity supply reliability, electricity transmission and supply services”, - said Mr. K. Zilenas.
In compliance with the outage and fault analysis and registry procedure, faults, occurring at Lietuvos Energija head office, division of transmission grid, Kaunas hydro power plant, Kruonis pumped storage plant equipment, are registered by drawing a protocol of equipment fault analysis. The events, which have had an impact upon operations of another division of the transmission grid or distribution network, are inspected by a special commission, each fault must be analyzed within 15 days. The computer database must show all data defined by quality requirements about the interruption of electricity supply.
During the period of Jaunuary 1, 2008 - December 31, 2008 the company registered an overall of 25 faults, during which electricity was not transmitted to consumers. All cases of electricity supply interruption were registered at the database automatically. 4 of them occurred due to the fault of the operator, 14 – due to the external impact, 6 – due to “force majeure” reasons, one reason has not been ascertained.
