OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 June 2009 was announced, that First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Government Sergey Ivanov visited Sevmash.

The main purpose of the visit was the inspection of construction of multipurpose atomic submarine “Severodvinsk” of YASEN project. This issue is planned to be a key one at the meeting of the Military Industrialization Commission next week.

S. Ivanov accompanied by Chief Navy V. Vysotskiy, Governor of Arkhangelsk region I. Mikhalchuk and Director General of Sevmash N. Kalistratov inspected the submarine, heard the report of responsible deliverer of the submarine V. Dobrovolskiy.

The head submarine of YASEN project was founded in Sevmash in December 1993, and should be accepted into service in 2011 as recently Oleg Burtsev, Russian Navy Vice Admiral, declared. According to the Naval Doctrine of the Russian Federation, submarines of this project shall become major multipurpose atomic submarines of Russia.
