OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2009. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received a new А319 aircraft by Airbus. By the end of the year, the company plans to receive one more aircraft of this model. Currently, the company’s air fleet has 54 airplanes of the А319/320/321 family. This aircraft was named after Aram Khachaturyan, a composer, conductor, teacher, prominent figure in the musical society, People’s Artiste of the USSR, Hero of Socialistic Labour, and author of Armenia’s National Anthem, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

The aircraft is received under an operational lease contract signed in 2008. The lease holder is BOC Aviation Limited.

All the machines are supplied directly ex-factory. The cabins are delivered in two-class layout to accommodate 116 (A319), 140 (A320) and 170 (A321) passengers. Aeroflot operates A320 family aircrafts to a network of destinations in Russia and Europe. The company is among the world’s leaders in terms of operational reliability and actual hours flown per aircraft.
