OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 June 2009 was announced, that Ingosstrakh IJSC paid insurance compensation under the contract of insurance of valuables in escrow with the bank. The insurance compensation was paid to a large Russian bank and totaled over RUB 7.4mln. The loss was caused by robbery in one of the bank’s regional offices committed by a group of armed persons.

According to Head of Financial Institutions Insurance Department of Ingosstrakh IJSC Alexei Kudrin, “In conditions of the worsening economic crisis, the number of such crimes will inevitably continue to grow. Quite recently we had to deal with cases of stealing from ATMs and payment terminals, now it is obvious that we are facing a much more serious threat to the interests of financial institutions – robberies in their structural divisions”.
