ROSNO Pays Over 297 Million Roubles of MOD Compensation in May
OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2009. Overall, ROSNO settled 6320 applications. More than half of all insured accidents (70% of all payments) were represented by traffic collisions, and about one-quarter (10% of all payments) — with broken glass. However, three largest MOD payments in May were made for stolen cars. Most popular among car thieves are premium-class cars and special machinery, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
ROSNO has paid over 1 mln roubles under 18 insured accidents (of them 9 are related to traffic collisions, 7 to stolen cars and 2 to fires). The largest payment in May was made for the KAMAZ 6520 stolen in the Kaluga Region. This dump truck had been owned by a leasing company and had been insured in Moscow for 90 thousand USD. The KAMAZ was stolen from its base in the village Vorsino during holidays. The absence of anti-theft devices has simplified the thieves’ job and further complicated the subsequent search for the vehicle. ROSNO has paid the owner 2,735,391 roubles for this insured accident.
However, the presence of a satellite alarm system did not help the owner of a Lexus GX470. The car was stolen late March from the parking lot of a hospital in the Krasnogorsk district (the Moscow Region). The subsequent vehicle search via the satellite search system was not successful. ROSNO has paid the owner — a private individual — 2,101,018 roubles.
Another large May payment also resulted from car theft. The BMW 525 was stolen in Podmoskov’e, and after five days it was found disassembled in Khimki (only body framework was left). ROSNO has paid the owner an insurance compensation of 2,092,062 roubles.
Large MOD payments made in May by ROSNO’s regional directorates also referred to stolen cars. For example, the company has paid 1,874,987 roubles to the owner of BMW Z4 insured in Nizhny Novgorod and stolen in Moscow.
The Ural Directorate’s (Yekaterinburg) largest MOD payment in May equalled 1,661,930 roubles was made to a leasing company for the damaged Scania P380CB6?4EHZ. The vehicle got in a traffic accident on the road Bely Yar — Urna (KMAO — the Tyumen Region). In May, ROSNO’s Central Directorate paid 1,499,105 roubles to the owner of Volvo ХС 70 burned down in the courtyard of a residential building in Yaroslavl.
