OREANDA-NEWS. On 23 June 2009 was announced, that the seminar is part of the Russian-Finnish program devoted to sustainable forest management and protection of biome in Russia's North-West. The program had been underway since 1997 within the framework of a bilateral agreement between the Finnish Ministry of Agroforestry and the Russian Federal Forestry Agency.

Tools to promote sustainable forest management on the territory of the Vologda Region as well as scientific cooperation of Russian and Finnish experts were in the highlight of the seminar.
