Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Conducted Session
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 17-19, 2009 ХXIХ session of the Interstate Council on the Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP) took place in Bishkek (the Kyrgyz Republic), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
ICAP discussed several issues of considerable importance for the CIS member-states:
- The role of the antimonopoly authorities in overcoming adverse consequences of the global financial crisis;
- The state of competition on the market of medicines in the CIS member-states;
- Reforming the electric power industry in the CIS member-states;
- The role of the antimonopoly authorities in ensuring competitive conditions on the electric power market, etc.
ICAP discussed the analysis of the Headquarters for Joint Investigations of Antimonopoly Violations in CIS of the markets of air transportation, telecommunications, grain and fuel-and-lubrication materials and the Headquarter's cartel investigations.
ICAP approved the draft Memorandum on Cooperation between the Interstate Council on the Antimonopoly Policy and the Interstate Aviation Committee, prepared under the framework of executing the decision of the CIS Council of the Heads of Governments of 14th November 2008 "On the State of Competition on the Air Transportation Markets in the CIS Member-States". The Memorandum will be signed at the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) International Conference on Competition in September 2009 (Kazan', Russia).
The next, XXX jubilee session of the Interstate Council on the Antimonopoly Policy (ICAP) will be in October 2009 in Yerevan (the Republic of Armenia).
