OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2009. An Embassy of Ukraine in Canada was the venue of a ceremony of signing of Memorandum on cooperation between Odesa Sea Port and Halifax Port. On behalf of the Canadian Port the Memorandum was signed by the president and chief executive officer of the Port Karen Oldfield.

At the ceremony their speeches delivered Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of Canada Noel A. Kinsella, a member of the House of Commons Joy Smith, president of Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce Zenon Potichny.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Ihor Ostash and other participants of the event emphasized that signing of the Memo on cooperation between “the Atlantic gates of Canada” and “sea gates of Ukraine” would facilitate to development of trade and economic relations between Ukraine and Canada.
