OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 June 2009 was announced, that Baikalwestcom Company, 100% subsidiary company of Sibirtelecom OJSC won the first place in the rating of economic entities of the Irkutsk region for the year 2008. It was awarded the First-Degree Diploma in the Transport and Communication category at the awarding ceremony.

Rating was organized by the government of the Irkutsk region among over 50 largest enterprises and organizations of the region. The expert commission consisted of representatives of profile ministries of the Irkutsk region and the Irkutsk State Statistics Service. The winners were determined by the indices of financial and economic, investment, and labor activities, as well as taking into account environment protection, and social responsibility of an organization.

Sergey Sokol, temporarily appointed Governor of the Irkutsk region, gave Diplomas to the managers of enterprises and organizations who made the greatest contributions to social and economic development of Priangarye in 2008.

First place in the rating of economic entities of the Irkutsk region is the second award of Baikalwestcom in 2009. Recently the Company won first place in the rating among all cellular operators in Russia in the rate of growth of the subscriber base.
