OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2009. The price natural gas for 2010 paid by the heat communal enterprises will be determined by the end of July of the current year. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during a meeting dedicated to issues of paying off debts by heat communal enterprises (teplocomunenerho) to Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC.

The Head of Government noted that teplocomunenerho enterprises will have several months to hold all necessary procedures to apply the new price. Yulia Tymoshenko reminded that the enterprises are subsidied by the state, that’s why they receive gas at a price lower than the purchasing price.

“But early or late we will have to transit to market prices for heat communal enterprises too,” the Head of Government emphasized. In this connection she empowered ministries of housing and communal services and regional development and building together with Naftogaz of Ukraine to reconsider and include changes into all normative documents in order to correct tariffs for heat, hot water depending on new prices: “We cannot afford losing three months from the moment the price is determined till the moment it is applied”.

Yulia Tymoshenko reminded the average yearly price for Russian natural gas amounts USD 228 per thousand of cubic meters for Ukraine. “According to our calculations, we will be able to receive the same gas price for the next year,” the Prime Minister stressed.
