OREANDA-NEWS. On June 17, 2009 Omurbek Babanov, the First Vice-Prime-Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic met with Igor Artemyev, the Head of FAS Russia, at the House of Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Heads and representatives of the antimonopoly authorities of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tadzhikistan and Ukraine, participating at XXIX session of the Interstate Council on the Antimonopoly Policy (MSAP), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

As the meeting the parties discussed important issues of antimonopoly policy and prospects for cooperation within the framework of MSAP.

Mr Babanov emphasized that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic pays considerable attention to protection of consumer market. Developing and expanding competition, and effective regulation on the monopolies.

The First Vice-Prime-Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed confidence that the work of the Interstate Council on the Antimonopoly Policy would strengthen interstate relations and give a new impulse to developing competitive market in the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his turn, Igor Artemyev, the Head of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service, informed about the methods and specificity of the work of the Federal Antimonopoly Service on enforcing compliance with the antimonopoly legislation in Russia.

The parties are confident that cooperation between antimonopoly authorities of the CIS member-states within the framework of MSAP creates homogenous legal space and levels "rules of the game" for market participants in CIS.
