OREANDA-NEWS. June 19, 2009. In addition to Viljandi and its surrounding area, EMT 3,5G now covers larger communities of Viljandi county as well. EMT 3.5G base stations are located in Viljandi, Olustvere, Vohma, Suure-Jaani, Mustal, Nuia, Abja, Suislepa and also in Kilingi-Nomme, on the border of Viljandi county. EMT 3.5G offers fast mobile internet to the residents of these communities in areas where regular landline internet is not available, reported the press-centre of EMT.

„Expeditious development of 3.5G network continues to be a priority for EMT. This is valid not only for larger cities, but also for rural areas and smaller townships“, said Tonu Grunberg, Executive Vice President in charge of Development and Technology with EMT. „EMT continues to invest in development of the network in order to continuously provide the best quality in Estonia“.

EMT is the only operator in Estonia to offer mobile internet with the speed of EDGE (up to 236 Kbit/sec) and the number of towns, communities and their surrounding areas where EMT 3.5G (up to 72.Mbit/sec) is available grows constantly. EMT 3.5G coverage area is the largest in Estonia and expands weekly.

Summer time means more traveling and therefore the need to use mobile internet increases. EMT offers mobile internet for half of the price during summer time. Package for frequent internet users (3GB of data transmission) has a monthly fee of EEK 199 during the summer (regular price EEK 399) and package for reading news and email (500MB of data transmission) costs EEK 99 per month (regular price EEK 199).

Modem needed for surfing the net via a computer is free for users of the 3GB package during the summer; users of the 500MB package can purchase the device for a special price of EEK 199 (regular price EEK 1890). The offer is valid for subscriptions made for a fixed term of 24 months. Also, a powerful laptop Samsung R509 is available for a special price of EEK 6990 (regular price 9990).

EMT internet can be used within the MyEMT package or as a regular subscription.
