OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 June 2009 was announced, that the specialized recreation centres for physically challenged people are to be open in every district of Moscow within two years.

“Elaborating a program aimed at developing sports facilities in Moscow we make it stipulate that special recreation centres for physically challenged people will be erected in two years,” said head of Moscow’s department for physical training and sports, Mikhail Stepanyants.

According to the official, it is not enough to reequip the sports facilities for disabled people, the objects intended specially for them should be built.

The first such object is under construction in southern Moscow.

Mr Stepanyants added that playgrounds where physically challenged people can go in for sports would be put up in every district of Moscow within two or three years.
