OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2009. The Altai Krai OFAS Russia initiated a case against "Gazpromneft'-Altail" OJSC, "Resneft'-Altailnefteproduct" Oil Company" OJSC and some other regional fuel companies for violating Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In May 2009, the 7th Arbitration Appeal Court (the Court of Second Instance) confirmed validity of the decision made by the regional antimonopoly authority, made on the previous case against the above subsidiaries of Gazprom Neft" and Rosneft', who had been engaged in concerted actions for fixing petrol prices.

OFAS Russia also initiated a case against "Soyuz" Ltd., "Simvol" Ltd., "Mega" Ltd., "Petrolina" Ltd., "Magis" Ltd., 'Sibirskaya Syryevaya Kompania" Ltd and an individual entrepreneur Rubtsov. The case was initiated when OFAS Russia's monitoring of retail prices for motor fuel in the Altail Krai showed relatively uniform price increase.

OFAS Russia suspects that the sellers violated the antimonopoly legislation by engaging in concerted actions towards fixing and maintaining retail prices for fuel and lubrication materials in the Altail Krai.

The hearing of the case against the above economic entities is sheduled for 30th June 2009.
