OREANDA-NEWS. Parallel functioning of old and new dial-up numbers to emergency, rescue and reference-information services will take place on 1st day of August of 2009, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

New dial-up numbers to emergency, rescue and reference-information services are implemented in Kazakhstan from March 15, 2009. Thus, to call to fire station instead of 01 you have to dial 101, to call to police station you have to dial 102, to call to emergency you have to dial 103, to call to gas service you have to dial 104, to call to rescue service you have to dial  112 instead of 051, and call to reference-information service is to be made by number 118. 

Pursuant to the Order of AIC of Republic of Kazakhstan no.246 as of June 04, 2009 parallel functioning of access numbers to emergency and reference-information services "0Х", "0ХУ" and "1UV" has been prolonged till August 1, 2009.

Remind that from 2009 works on change of dial-up numbers to emergency and reference-information services had started on telecommunication networks of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Numbers, which start from "0", now will start from "1" according to the international standards.
This action is made for enumeration plan matching with international standards and realization of agreement between the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on informatization and communication and the Ministry of Information technologies and communication of Russian federation on enumeration use of 7 zone of world enumeration. Besides, change of shortened services numbers from "0" to "1" will allow increasing total shortened numbers, deficiency of which is obvious in many countries.

Now, to call, for instance to Central repair bureau, subscriber is to dial "165" instead of 065. to order long-distance and international calls you must dial "171".
