June 18, 2009.  Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko does not see any obstacles to the construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus and says that the relevant contract may be signed as early as this autumn: “We are working towards this end and have already signed an inter-governmental agreement.”

“We are planning to sign the contract this autumn. We have already submitted all necessary documents. Now the Ministry of Finance has to make a decision on the provision of necessary loans but this is just a working procedure,” says Kiriyenko.
