OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 June 2009 was announced, that the 14th International specialized exhibition for packaging Rosupak 2009 opened in Moscow. It will last till June 19. At present moment the show is the largest packaging exhibition in Russia and Eastern Europe, the exposition area covers 28, 000 sq.m.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Mikhail Klinov, Head of the Department of the ministry of Industry and Commerce of Russia; Mr. Alexander Krutov, the State Duma parliamentarian; Mr. Leonid Govorov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Andrei Zagorsky, President of the National Confederation of Packagers (NKPack); Mr. Alexander Boiko, Chairman of the Sub-Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation; Mr. Vladimir Chuikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GOTEK Group of Companies; Mr. Alexander Puzikov, President of the Pakmash Association.

The exhibition drew over 500 largest manufacturers of raedy packaging and packaging machinery from thirty countries. For all these years the show has been stimulating the market development in Russia, contributing to implementation of innovative technology. At present time the packaging industry of Russia, according to the World Packaging Organization, is in top ten of the largest packaging markets in the world. For the first time Rosupak will present flexible packaging using nanotechnologies: a joint project of ROSNANO and Danaflex. Such packaging will make it possible to considerably reduce the food additives and prolong the “shelf-life” of products.

The innovative technologies introduced at the exhibition will contribute to development of the packaging industry, and consumers will be able to appreciate the results of work.

On June 16-17, 2009 the ROSUPAK 2009 business programme (IEC “Crocus Expo”, Moscow) is going to represent the International Business Forum on the Strategic Solutions for the Participants of the Russian Packaging Industry. The forum will give floor to the leaders of packaging market to introduce efficient and topical anti-recessionary programmes.

The Forum is going to welcome the special guest Mikhail Khazin, the economist who had predicted the crisis of the American economy yet in 2000.
