OREANDA-NEWS. June 18, 2009. Fixed-run taxi vans in Ryazan are being equipped with GLONASS equipment. The system has been already installed on 70 vans.
Special GLONASS dispatcher service will acquire data about location of each van.

Anatoly Nechesa, transport department head of Ryazan Administration, states that these measures will help following the vans during rush hours in order to check whether the taxi is running. In addition, satellite navigation will provide city authorities with the opportunity to make a map of passenger traffic, thus increasing or lessening the number of taxies available for each route.
