Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy Will Meet in Bishkek
OREANDA-NEWS. The ХXIХ session of Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy (MSAP) will take place on Bishkek (the Kyrgystan Republic) from 17th to 19th June, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The agenda of the XXIX MSAP session covers several issues that are of utmost importance for antimonopoly authorities in CIS, including the role of the antimonopoly bodies in overcoming adverse consequences of the global financial practice; the sate of competition on the market of medicines in CIS member-states; reforms of the energy sector in CIS; and the role of the antimonopoly authorities for securing competitive conditions on the market of electric power industry, etc.
MSAP will also discuss the outcome of the work of the Headquarters for joint investigations of antimonopoly violations in CIS member-states, which was formed in accordance with the decision of XXIII MSAP session.
In particular, MSAP members will focus on enforcement of the decision made by the Council of the Heads of CIS Governments on 14th November 2008 "On the State of Competition on the Markets of Air Transportation in CIS Member-States". MSAP will also discuss the Headquarter's surveys on competitive environment on the markets of telecommunication and grain.
It is also planned that MSAP will have the first meeting with representatives of a recently formed Association of CIS lawyers, specialising in competition law.
The visit programme also includes a meeting of MSAP members with the Prime Minister (Mr Chudinov).
Bishkek programme also includes various bilateral meetings with the executives of the CIS antimonopoly authorities; including the Director of the State Agency for Antimonopoly Policy at the Government of the Kyrgystan Republic (Mr. Turganbaev".
