Irkutskenergo Plans to Lower Emissions of Harmful Substances
OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2009 was announced, that JSC Irkutskenergo this year is aimed to lower emissions of harmful substances into the environment by 52.8 thousand tons, the published documents of the company say. Thus, last year the volume of emissions equaled 297.6 thousand tons; this year the indicator is planned to be lowered to 244.8 thousand tons. In particular, it is planned that following the results of the year, ash emissions will equal 56.6 thousand tons (69.8 thousand tons were emitted in 2008), sulfur dioxide emissions were 144.3 thousand tons and 168.2 thousand tons accordingly. A 14.5 thousand-ton reduction of nitrogen dioxide emissions is also planned.
Within the limits of the actions on reduction in the emissions rendering negative influence on the environment, the company plans to equip branches with devices of the control over emissions of polluting substances, to develop the project of replacement of electric filters of the boiler assembly at one of the stations of Thermal Power Station-6. Development of the project and reconstruction of ash collectors at boiler assemblies of two stations of Thermal Power Station-10 and re-cultivation of the first map of ash disposal area of Thermal Power Station-11 is also supposed.
The installed capacity of JSC Irkutskenergo’s power stations is 12.9 GW, including HPS - more than 9 GW. The state possesses 40% of JSC Irkutskenergo's shares; a large share holding of the company is managed in En+ Group's interests by EuroSibEnergo - the largest Russian independent power company.
