OREANDA-NEWS. On 17 June 2009 was announced, that consumers of the electric power of the Irkutsk region owed over RUR 1.3 billion to Irkutsk Power Sales Company. The population’s debt is RUR 150 million; including budgetary organizations - RUR 90 million, industrial organizations - RUR 60 million. Other debts are owed by resellers and other categories of consumers. This was reported to "Energy of Priangarie" by in the Press Service of JSC Irkutskenergo.

Electric power debts this year in comparison with the previous year have essentially increased. Thus, as of the beginning of 2008, the debts to Irkutsk Power Sales Company Ltd. were nearby RUR 800 million. By April 2009, it actually grew twice.

In this connection the power company is to carry out large-scale work on collecting debts - in accordance with judicial and extrajudicial procedures (re-structuring of debts with presentation of a schedule of payments). The delivery of the electric power will be limited with regard to persistent non-payers. Judicial and enforcement proceedings will be also applied to physical persons. Since the beginning of 2009, more than 1,000 claims were filed.
