OREANDA-NEWS. June 16, 2009. GAZ has offered a former GM vice president to take the position of board chairman, the auto maker said in a press release. “Former GM vice president Bo Anderson gave his consent to take the position of GAZ chairman of the board,” the company reported adding it would convene an extraordinary shareholders meeting on June 29 for the purpose of electing the ex-top manager of the world’s largest automotive concern to the board.

From 2007 to 2009 Anderson oversaw GM purchasing policies and supplier network expansion. In early June the American auto giant filed for bankruptcy. At that time, Oleg Deripaska hired Anderson as his auto business advisor.
