PM Tymoshenko Meets with PM Sidorsky
OREANDA-NEWS. On June 12, 2009 The Prime Minter Yulia Tymoshenko has held a meeting with Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky in a tete-a-tete and enlarged format.
The Head of Ukrainian Government emphasized that Ukraine attaches huge importance to cooperation with Belarus.
According to Yulia Tymoshenko, 2008 has been a record one taking into account trade turnover between the two states, which has grown twice against previous years. The Prime Minister of Ukraine noted these are rather satisfying results. “It means our opportunities are exceptional,” Yulia Tymoshenko underlined. She thanked to the Belarusian party for the suggested mechanisms which made possible to resume high showings of trade turnover under conditions of the global financial turmoil and based on special finance calculation systems.
Yulia Tymoshenko said during a tete-a-tete meeting the parties considered cooperation in energy domain. In particular, she explained, it concerned mastering additional capacities for production of nuclear power energy, building of additional electric mains.
The Head of Government stressed Ukraine was keen on fastest launch of export of electric energy to Belarus. Yulia Tymoshenko gave a respective commission to the Minister of Fuel and Energy. “Just to make the contract signed between Ukraine and Belarus come in force immediately, just to start shipment after your returning to Belarus,” she urged.
The Premier also emphasized Ukraine is interested in a joint export of electrical energy to the other countries in synergy with Belarus.
In his turn, the Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky accentuated that governments of the two states had managed to cease the process of reduction of trade turnover. Thereupon, he emphasized the Government of Ukraine had spared no efforts to grow amounts of trade between the two states over recent months.
