OREANDA-NEWS. On 10 June 2009 was announced, that SOGAZ Insurance Group had signed an employee insurance contract with Energoatom Concern OJSC.

According to the contract, in 2009 SOGAZ will provide insurance coverage for more than 38,600 employees working at 23 facilities of the Concern. The employees will be insured against risks of radiation exposure, as well as job-related accidents and common diseases.

The aggregate limit of the insurer’s liability amounts to RUR 6.5 billion.

SOGAZ Insurance Group has been working with Energoatom Concern OJSC in the sphere of personal insurance since April 2006. According to Vadim Yanov, Chairman of the Management Board of SOGAZ Insurance Group, during this period effective cooperation has been established with the concern’s divisions in the field of social security of the insured, which  makes it possible to fully exercise employees’ rights for social security provided at the expense of the employer.

Today, 11,500 children of the Concern’s employees and 8,600 retired people are also insured by SOGAZ.

Energoatom Concern OJSC (Federal State Unitary Enterprise Rosenergoatom Concern before corporatization) was established in 1992. Today the Concern comprises all of the 10 Russian NPPs where 31 power generating units with the total installed capacity of 23,242 MW are operated, 7 more units are under construction on the existing and new sites, and 6 other branches ensure the operation of the NPPs.
