Welcoming the participants and guests Mr. Kim Chong-Yul, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan focused on the importance of the international exhibition and the business meetings in Ashgabat for developing the constructive partnership. The diplomat noted that participation of the Korean companies and leading experts in the forum was the first step to implement the programme of cooperation between the sectoral departments of two countries that had been initiated during the first meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean commission for economic cooperation last October.
The Korean experts presented a broad overview of the achievements of the Republic of Korea in textile industry. In particular, the KITECH scientists who were engaged in the research on high-tech industries and the experts of the companies Kogyobng Chemical and Vesbay shared their experience in applying advanced technologies in spinning, weaving and dyeing, production of natural, synthetic and mixed fabrics and textile materials of the future. Emphasis was put on the need to control the quality at each stage of production – from processing raw cotton to manufacture of finished products. In this regard, the Korean partners expressed the readiness to offer their innovations to Turkmen textile specialists, and thus contribute to further modernization of this sector of national economy.
Taking account of the profound expertise of the potential Korean partners in developing and applying the science intensive, high technology and environmentally friendly technologies the Turkmen showed great interest the proposals while discussing the opportunities to establish close mutually advantageous cooperation.
Thus, the textile exhibition in Ashgabat vividly evidenced that Turkmenistan’s textile industry was a dynamically developing sector with the profound potential, modern production infrastructure and famous all over the world for a broad range of its products that meet the international quality standards. However, this show became a new effective step to strengthen and expand effective business contacts with foreign partners that is a priority of Turkmenistan's policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
