In Q1 2009, the total amount of insurance compensations under the personal property insurance contracts (except insurance contracts covering transport, cargo, financial risks and agricultural risks) equalled 29.6 million roubles. In total, ROSNO settled 241 insured events throughout the abovementioned period. The average insurance compensation equalled 123 thousand roubles.

The majority of contracts in this category are the contracts covering apartments and cottage houses. In Q1 2009, the insured events mainly resulted from breakdowns in public utilities, flood, theft, unlawful third-party actions, and fires. In the spring of this year, a large number of fires started in cottage houses because of arson/burning dry grass.

ROSNO’s regional directorates paid the aggrieved individuals 4.16 mln roubles (except large losses, which are settled via the parent company). Overall, the regional divisions settled about 100 applications. The largest payment was made by ROSNO’s Nizhny Novgorod branch. The amount of insurance compensation for the cottage house located in Bogorodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod Region, insured under the Citadel program and damaged by fire, equalled 1.1 million roubles.
