OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 June 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output rose 5.7% on the year in January-April to 864,000 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ Statistics and Analysis Ministry told.

Steel output increased 1.9% on the year to 906,000 tonnes, while steel pipe output was down 48.3% on the year to 30,800 tonnes in the period. Standard quality wire output rose 7.5% on the year to 79,000 tonnes in the period, and steel wire output fell 6.8% to 27,900 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 31,000 tonnes of metal cord in the period, down 2.9% on the year.

In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus increased 2.4% on the year to 1.398 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in January-April 2009.
