OREANDA-NEWS. On 08 June 2009 was announced, that under the programme Environment and public health in Nevinnomyssk, EuroChem launched its 22nd social project entitled We Create Our Future Together. In the industrial town of Nevinnomyssk, the Company equipped a sports complex, built an outdoor pool, installed fitness machines, and purchased unique rehabilitation equipment for disabled children. The cost of the project is one million roubles. EuroChem’s total contribution to the Environment and public health in Nevinnomyssk programme has so far been 16.3 million roubles.

In order to define the priorities for urban development in Nevinnomyssk, the town’s residents participated in a public contest in which representatives from the municipal authorities and public organizations selected the twenty-six most interesting proposals. Residents, whose proposals were selected, received grants from EuroChem.

Among the participants in We Create Our Future Together is Haven, a social and rehabilitation centre for youths, and a multipurpose social service centre for the population at large. EuroChem’s new social initiatives illustrate the responsible partnerships between the Company, its employees, and Nevinnomyssk residents and municipal authorities. It is another step towards improving the environment and promoting a healthy life style for the town’s residents.

The Environment and Public Health in Nevinnomyssk programme was launched in 2007, and will be implemented over a 3 year period with support from the Sustainable Development Foundation. Thanks to the programme, the town has received a new sports complex, a hydropathic clinic, the first eco class and school for humane animal treatment in the Stavropol region, a winter garden, the Preschool Children Football League, Eco Journalism School, physiotherapeutic rooms in kindergartens, and many other things.

In addition, in 2009 the town will receive outdoor sports centres, an outdoor gym, a family mini-park in the 2nd micro-district, a consultation centre for young mothers, renovated rooms in the children’s health centre, and a renovated gymnasium at the Nevinnomyssk Chemical College.
