OREANDA-NEWS  On 05 June was announced, that Tashkent International Insurance Forum opened in the Uzbek capital on 4 June 2009. The four-day event is aimed to discuss priority tasks of developing insurance and reinsurance business, familiarizing with investment opportunities of insurance in the region and assisting in the attraction of national and foreign investments, in the insurance market.

The Forum will discuss possibilities of integration of the region's insurance market into the international insurance community, promotion of strengthening ties among national and foreign representatives of insurance business through creation of a platform for interactive negotiations.

The Forum is organized by SAIPRO Company at the official support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Association of Professional Participants of Insurance Market of Uzbekistan. General partner of the Forum is Kapital Sugurta insurance company.

Over 200 insurance specialists from Uzbekistan, Great Britain, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will participate at the event.

One of the topics in the forum will be development of insurance market of Uzbekistan. As of 1 April 2009, number of insurance companies in Uzbekistan made up 30, one re-insurance company and three brokers, as well as one insurance assistance firm.

Insurers of Uzbekistan collected premiums for 87.1 billion soums, which is up 18.3% year-on-year. The volume of payouts in 2008 comprised 14.2 billion soums or up 62.9% year-on-year.
