OREANDA-NEWS. June 05, 2009. In January-May 2009, Stevedoring Company Avlita CJSC handled 2 million tonnes of general and loose cargo (+47%, year-on-year) including 700,000 tonnes of metal and 1.3 million tonnes of grain, the company’s press center reports.

Stevedoring Company Avlita CJSC (Sevastopol) specializes in stevedoring and forwarding services. It mainly handles metal and services 2-mln t grain terminal which was put into operation in April 2004.

77.12% of Avlita is owned by Metalukr Holding Limited (Cyprus) representing the interests of Metinvest controlled by Ukraine’s businessman and deputy Rinat Akhmetov. Actual owner of Avlita is Metinvest Holding LLC (Donetsk) – managing company of Metinvest Group. 22.88% of the shares belong to L.I.T.A.T. Offshore Company Limited (Cyprus).

In 2008, the company handled 3.96 million tonnes of cargo including 1.76 million tonnes of metal goods and 2.2 million tonnes of grain.
