OREANDA-NEWS. June 04, 2009. The Gomel fat factory has launched regular supplies of toilet and household soap to the USA.

The deliveries are serviced by a commercial firm based in New York. The first consignment was shipped at the end of 2008. This year the company has dispatched two 30-tonne consignments and is preparing the third one. Although the deliveries are not big, it is still beneficial for the company to deliver soap to the USA. “One the one hand it is the prestige of the company. On the other, as soap has natural ingredients it is more expensive than the soap with chemical additives,” Alexander Orlov said.

The company’s main sale markets are Russia and Kazakhstan. The company also exports its products to Latvia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and other CIS countries. In January-May 2009, the export totaled Br1 billion, up 38% over the same period last year.

The Gomel fat factory was founded in 1932. It produces margarine products, mayonnaise, toilet and household soap.
