OREANDA-NEWS. June 03, 2009. Owing to support and assistance to the aviation domain by the Government Ukraine has launched exploitation of a new national regional passenger plane An-148-100. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko informed during the Government’s sitting. She opined this is an event of universal importance as Ukraine belongs to the seven countries of the world engaged into design, production and launch of planes. “We have made a serious breakthrough when yesterday such plane performed its first fight between Kyiv and Kharkiv,” the Head of Government underlined and added AN-148-100 is unique as it can be used both for passenger conveyance and for special purposes. Besides, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, the plane has been constructed in an automated regime from beginning to end.

The Head of Government aired there are demands from the world markets for our planes, which can bring around USD 5 billion. “It is a real breakthrough and I would like us to be proud of our aviation domain, our design bureau and of the fact we have managed to put the branch on its feet financially and organizationally and yielded such results,” Yulia Tymoshenko urged.
