OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 June 2009 was announced, that the city authorities of Moscow are to speed up social housing development and erect 3.7 million square metres of living area in the city this year.

Earlier it was planned to build about 2.5 million square metres of homes in 2009, as many as the year before.

“Besides, construction of 8 comprehensive schools to accommodate 4,900 students, 33 kindergartens for 5,300 children, 2 hospital buildings, 2 clinics, an urgent care centre and the first stage of the boarding house for veterans of work will be completed in the Russian capital in 2009,” a source from City Hall said.

The official added that 23 recreation centres would be erected, the ice arena with a transforming station would open and construction of the ski slope would go on in Moscow.
